Elite, the Eagle Elite series #1, by Rachel Van Dyken, REVIEW

Wow. I am surprisingly shocked that I liked this book. I've made it known to anyone who asks that YA/NA is NOT my preferred genre for reading. It has to like grip me right away if I am to continue reading it. That and this book is like Mafia based so it's also not my type of reading material either. But Elite? Whoa. Gripped me by the end of the first chapter and I couldn't put it down.

I absolutely loved Nixon & Trace's characters and how they were written. I'm not sure how I feel about the triangle thy seems to be happening by the end or the 'excerpt' from Elect. BUT I'm so excited to start reading.

So I'll be getting Elect in the mail soon! & im super excited to start it! Until then--happy reading!

He can flash like Colby. And it makes him a target to their enemies and to himself. His abilities change everything he knows about life and throws his future into an uncertain tangent. In fact, the only thing certain in his life is the love he feels for Colby.
Their love defies time and space and has been the only constant thing in their lives since childhood. But even their infallible love will be stretched to its limits.
She will risk her life to protect him. But he will risk everything to protect them all.

Twisted Bond by Emma Hart, a review

Twisted Bond, a Holly Woods Files novel Book 1 was an amazing read. From the teasers I've scrolled through on Facebook, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this baby.

Book 1 in the Holly Woods files Series

"I’m an Italian-Texan woman in a family full of cops. I’m passionate and shoot before I think. You only f*ck with me if you’re stupid."

Photograph cheating spouses. Hand over the evidence. Cash my check. That was my plan when I returned home to Holly Woods, Texas, and became a private investigator. Finding the dead body in my dumpster? Yeah… Given the choice, I think I would have opted out of that little discovery, especially since all three of my brothers are cops. And my Italian grandmother is sure the reason I’m single is because of my job. Of course, my connection to the victim is entirely coincidental.

Until I’m hired by her husband to investigate her murder and shoved bang-smack into the path of Detective Drake Nash. My nemesis, a persistent pain in my ass, and one hell of a sexy son of a bitch. Shame he still holds a grudge from that time I shot him in the foot twelve years ago, or we could have something. In another life.

So now all I have to do is avoid my nonna’s blind dates, try not to blackmail my brothers into giving me confidential police files, and absolutely do not point my gun at Drake Nash. Or kiss him. Or jump his bones.

All while I hunt down the killer. Sounds totally simple—until a second body proves that sometimes things that start as coincidences don’t always end up that way…

Although for me, this cover didn't really sell me. Idky but I would have really thought about this book first before buying if I had never seen teasers or excerpts.

I am really glad I did of course because this was a five star read. I'm not totally into Italian or cop romance but I am very pleased with this book. I am excited about the series too.

This is the first time I'm reading Emma Hart and I'm very pleased to say I'm excited to be picking up her other books too. Or actually reading them because I have them. Ha.

Definitely worth picking up and reading. I'd pay for for this book, so worth the money. Loved this book from start to finish. Sexy. Funny. Lol. The 'passion' between the characters Noelle and Drake was exciting to read and it felt like I got to know them. Very good read. It will be a part of my reread collection. Very quick a and fun read!
