Elite, the Eagle Elite series #1, by Rachel Van Dyken, REVIEW

Wow. I am surprisingly shocked that I liked this book. I've made it known to anyone who asks that YA/NA is NOT my preferred genre for reading. It has to like grip me right away if I am to continue reading it. That and this book is like Mafia based so it's also not my type of reading material either. But Elite? Whoa. Gripped me by the end of the first chapter and I couldn't put it down.

I absolutely loved Nixon & Trace's characters and how they were written. I'm not sure how I feel about the triangle thy seems to be happening by the end or the 'excerpt' from Elect. BUT I'm so excited to start reading.

a

So I'll be getting Elect in the mail soon! & im super excited to start it! Until then--happy reading!

Twisted Bond by Emma Hart, a review

Twisted Bond, a Holly Woods Files novel Book 1 was an amazing read. From the teasers I've scrolled through on Facebook, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this baby.

Book 1 in the Holly Woods files Series

"I’m an Italian-Texan woman in a family full of cops. I’m passionate and shoot before I think. You only f*ck with me if you’re stupid."

Photograph cheating spouses. Hand over the evidence. Cash my check. That was my plan when I returned home to Holly Woods, Texas, and became a private investigator. Finding the dead body in my dumpster? Yeah… Given the choice, I think I would have opted out of that little discovery, especially since all three of my brothers are cops. And my Italian grandmother is sure the reason I’m single is because of my job. Of course, my connection to the victim is entirely coincidental.

Until I’m hired by her husband to investigate her murder and shoved bang-smack into the path of Detective Drake Nash. My nemesis, a persistent pain in my ass, and one hell of a sexy son of a bitch. Shame he still holds a grudge from that time I shot him in the foot twelve years ago, or we could have something. In another life.

So now all I have to do is avoid my nonna’s blind dates, try not to blackmail my brothers into giving me confidential police files, and absolutely do not point my gun at Drake Nash. Or kiss him. Or jump his bones.

All while I hunt down the killer. Sounds totally simple—until a second body proves that sometimes things that start as coincidences don’t always end up that way…

```````
Although for me, this cover didn't really sell me. Idky but I would have really thought about this book first before buying if I had never seen teasers or excerpts.
I am really glad I did of course because this was a five star read. I'm not totally into Italian or cop romance but I am very pleased with this book. I am excited about the series too.
This is the first time I'm reading Emma Hart and I'm very pleased to say I'm excited to be picking up her other books too. Or actually reading them because I have them. Ha.
Definitely worth picking up and reading. I'd pay for for this book, so worth the money. Loved this book from start to finish. Sexy. Funny. Lol. The 'passion' between the characters Noelle and Drake was exciting to read and it felt like I got to know them. Very good read. It will be a part of my reread collection. Very quick a and fun read!
    One date with the sexier-than-sin Detective Drake Nash. Simple.
    Until you take into account that my brother finally proposed to his girlfriend, so Nonna is on a warpath—and the crazy old bat has Cupid by the balls.
    The upcoming mayoral elections has everyone running on full speed, and while I couldn’t give any less craps about the corrupt Holly Woods mayor’s office, a dead body in the middle of a campaign speech has me thrown right into the middle of it. The victim is close to the mayor, but all he cares about is minimizing the damage to his campaign, so he hires me to work alongside Drake to close the case as quickly as possible.
    We disagree far more than we agree, but being at loggerheads won’t get this murder solved… Or deal with the arrival of someone from his past.
    The mysteries behind the murder aren’t the only things unraveling, and despite being knee-deep in lies and corruption and bonds so tangled they’re almost indecipherable, I have to figure out if I’m willing to fight for Drake the way I do justice…
Posers gonna pose
I am a man who had nothing, but found everything.
I’ll never go back to nothing ever again.
I vowed to protect her, and that’s exactly what I’m gonna do.
The pictures I stumbled upon haunt me still, the secret I shoulder is heavy.
They say secrets put distance between two people, but the truth is far more destructive than keeping it will ever be.
I won’t ever tell. She can’t ever know.
When I look in the mirror my reflection is of who I’m afraid I’ll become and not the man I am.
It makes me feel like a poser, no better than all the others pretending to be exactly who they aren’t.
How does a man keep it together when everything is unraveling right here in his hands?
I didn’t start any of this.
I never asked for it.
But it came knocking at my door.
When secrets and threats knock, I don’t hide.
I open the door.
Because the best way to take down a poser is to be one.
Imitation (Imitation series) by Heather Hildenbrand, Review
Okay, just a short note before i go into my normal schpeal. (Yeah that's not spelled correctly, IDC!) i will say this. Sometimes i find my self in limbo about reading another YA series from the same author. It's just not quite the same vibe that you get when you read their first series. Because you're already attached to the heroine that in that series and for me, it's hard to change that perpestive. So in saying, i was hesitant in reading Imitation. Why did i buy it then? Well, one, why wouldn't i? I mean, i loved her other books, of course i was going to buy the rest of them and they sounded really good. that, and i support the support the authors i love to read, even if i don't necessarily read the book(s). the questioin always is, will i read them though? It's iffy. So at first when i started reading imitation, i'm like get to the good part already. And of coruse when it ended I'm like. OMGEE that book was amazing.
I am so glad i did! I loved reading Imitation. I saw this author at UtopYA2015 and i got Imitation along with her two other books. And I read through this book rather quickly. I loved Ven's character.
Everyone is exactly like me. There is no one like me.
Ven wrestles with these contradicting truths every day. A clone of wealthy eighteen-year-old Raven Rogen, Ven knows everything about the girl she was created to serve: the clothes she wears, the boys she loves, the friends she loves to hate. Yet she’s never met the Authentic Raven face-to-face. Imitations like Ven only get to leave the lab when they’re needed—to replace a dead Authentic, donate an organ, or complete a specific mission. And Raven has never needed Ven . . . until now.
When there is an attack on Raven’s life, Ven is thrust into the real world, posing as Raven to draw out the people who tried to harm her. But as Ven dives deeper into Raven’s world, she begins to question everything she was ever told. She exists for Raven, but is she prepared to sacrifice herself for a girl she’s never met?
Fans of Cinder, The Selection and Sara Shepard’s Lying Game series will love Imitation, a thrilling, action-packed novel sure to keep readers guessing until the very last page.
This is a new release of the previously self-published title.
I will say, i loved this book entirely and can not wait to dive into Deviation. HOWEVER! I think i will wait until Generatio nis out before i read book two. I am happy the way it ended in book 1 and Ms. Hildenbrand said something wicked abotu how book 2's cliffy is...so i might wait. I don't want to hold an angry rage at her. haha. Just kidding. But seriously. I will wait. I loved reading this from her and can't wait to read the other two books of her i bought! See you soon!
Me & Ven waiting for my flight in Nashville, Tennessee.
Me & Ven and now Linc! poolside!
FINSIHED AND LOVED!!!
And also, book 1 and book 2 are only $2 (as of this post) and i will tell you it is a good investmant. GO FOR IT! You won't be dissappointed and if you are...you have no taste. and this is coming from a reader who doesn't care for YA! Just FYI!
Grey by EL James, Review
At first i thought in my head....Christian's POV? Uh? YAAAAS! I mean come on. This girl needed to know about CG and his whacky brain. I mean hello! Everything that's happened to him, it was a given. I had to get this book. ALSO, i read it in like 5 hours. SO BAM! I INHALED THIS BOOK! It's in my review, but i think Grey, FSOG as told by CG is TOPS! I mean, so much better than Ana's POV. Sorry, but that's how i feel. I felt that FSOG in Ana's POV was repetitive and if i heard 'once more, or my inner goddess' one more time, blah. Sorry. Not really ho i like reading my romance. BUT i loved the series. The series, all three books were amazing. No doubt. I just didn't care for the repetitve words sometimes. Story line was great. Um, in Grey, it is so much better written. I could not put it down.
See the world of Fifty Shades of Grey anew through the eyes of Christian Grey.
In Christian's own words, and through his thoughts, reflections, and dreams, E L James offers a fresh perspective on the love story that has enthralled millions of readers around the world.
Christian Grey exercises control in all things; his world is neat, disciplined, and utterly empty—until the day that Anastasia Steele falls into his office, in a tangle of shapely limbs and tumbling brown hair. He tries to forget her, but instead is swept up in a storm of emotion he cannot comprehend and cannot resist. Unlike any woman he has known before, shy, unworldly Ana seems to see right through him—past the business prodigy and the penthouse lifestyle to Christian’s cold, wounded heart.
Will being with Ana dispel the horrors of his childhood that haunt Christian every night? Or will his dark sexual desires, his compulsion to control, and the self-loathing that fills his soul drive this girl away and destroy the fragile hope she offers him?
This book is intended for mature audiences.
OKAY! Now to my highlights!
Here, he's so teenage like. And you see how he reacts to her. He has no idea how to approach her. Not really. Of course he wants her and he wants her to be his 'submissive' but he already knows Ana is somethign different to him. That's like already a given. How he acts with her is different than his other submissives, even without having to read about the other 15, you know he's different with Ana. I liked this.
Yes. Here he does show his alpha side, but I think it's more than just his DOM showi ng. Sorry, you'll never convince me he's a real DOM. Sorry, i've read a lot of DOMs before. CG is not a Dominant where Ana is concerned.
I just really liked that. I loved reading his POV.
that one too.
See how he reacts to her/ How insecure he is about himself? It's so obvious how he's still locked into that young teenage boy who's never been on a date, or really talked to a girl. In my opinion, i think if Ana had met CG when he was this 15 year old boy, than it would have been so much better. (of course if Ana was his age then...lol)
See! Yet again, his insecurites show and you get so much from his brain in this book. See how 50 shades he really is because of Mrs. Robinson and her pedoself.
Exactly. You see how he wants to change. He want to be better for Ana. He knows something is wrong with how he's been 'brought up' by that sicko, Elena.
LOVE THIS!
HAHA! I couldn't help it. I loved this seenn. Nice? Nice. NICE? It's like WTF!?!?!?
Hey....he just might!
Yes i looked up that word. I was like fellates? WTF? Really? In my head i'm thinking just say 'as she sucks my dick' lol) But hey... new word for me to know!
I loved how that represents a new day. The sunrise. 'the newborn sun' it does have so much promise, right?
So yeah. Those were my favorites. Hope you enjoyed it! I loved reading Grey. It has so much potentional for Darker and Freed in his POV and i really hope EL James decides to pursue this. I woudl love to read him and his perspective through out the rest of the series!
